The PUD purchased the charging stations and partnered with the Greater Newport Area Chamber of Commerce to cover the electricity costs. An EV charging network membership is not required to charge; EV drivers can simply plug in to start charging for free using the Blink app.
2. Metaline Falls Station - There is an EV Charging Station in Metaline Falls located at in front of the Metaline Falls Visitor Center on Washington Street at the end of 5th Avenue. The PUD purchased the charging stations and partnered with Town of Metaline Falls to cover the electricity costs, so charging is free. An EV charging network membership is not required to charge; EV drivers can simply plug in to start charging for free using the Blink app.
The EV stations are safe, reliable, and easy to use. They are compatible with all plug-in electric and hybrid cars in North America. Blink’s open network allows drivers to view live station status on the Blink and PlugShare mobile apps or get directions using Google Maps.
