Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station Information

PUD Installed EV Stations

1. Newport EV Station
There is an EV Charging Station at the PUD’s Newport Administration Building located at 130 N. Washington Ave., in the drive-through window parking area. Customers, tourists, and through-travelers can charge their electric vehicles at one of two EV charging stations. The PUD purchased and operates the stations, and drivers now pay to charge according to the Board-approved rate. An EV charging network membership is not required; EV drivers can simply plug in and pay using the Blink app.

2. Metaline Falls EV Station
There is an EV Charging Station in Metaline Falls, located in front of the Metaline Falls Visitor Center on Washington Street at the end of 5th Avenue. The station is in service and available for use. Drivers are required to pay for charging per the Board-approved rate.

The EV stations are safe, reliable, and easy to use.  They are compatible with all plug-in electric and hybrid cars in North America. Blink’s open network allows drivers to view live station status on the Blink and PlugShare mobile apps or get directions using Google Maps.

How to Charge your EV

  1. Tap your SemaConnect Pass or BLINK Card on the charging station’s card reader symbol, or select the station using the BLINK Charging mobile app.
  2. Unplug the connector from the charging station and insert into your EV. Once you hear the “Click,” you’ll know it’s secure.
  3. The station will turn from a CONSTANT BLUE light (available) to a BREATHING GREEN light. This indicates that your car is charging.
  4. A CONSTANT GREEN light means that your EV is fully charged. You can end your charging ses-sion by simply unplugging the connector from your  vehicle.  As a courtesy to other drivers, don’t forget to coil the cord around the bracket and plug the connector back into the station.
